Rantau: Tok Mat comfortably ahead in unofficial early voting results


RANTAU: Barisan Nasional's Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan (a.k.a. Tok Mat) secures 95 early votes, while Pakatan Harapan's Dr S. Streram gets only eight.

It is learnt that Mohamad received 62 votes at the Sedayan air base while Dr Streram polled seven.

Of the 34 votes cast by police personnel, including those who are retired and their spouses, Mohamad got 33 while Dr Streram got just one.

Both independents R. Malarvizhi and Mohd Nor Yassin failed to secure a single vote.

The EC said turnout for early voting on Tuesday (April 9) was 96%.

There are 110 early votes and eight postal votes for the Rantau by-election.
