‘PAS-Umno combo nothing new’

PETALING JAYA: A ban on alcohol consumption and dancing was among the eight conditions set by PAS in its early cooperation with Umno in the 1970s, says PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (pic).

According to the Islamist party’s mouthpiece Harakah Daily, Abdul Hadi said that one of the conditions spelt out for Umno was that PAS would not be bound by the rules of the Alliance Party, which later became Barisan Nasional.
