Dr M attends disaster management committee meeting in Pasir Gudang

PASIR GUDANG: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad attended the district Disaster Relief Management Committee meeting on efforts to contain chemical pollution problem at Sungai Kim Kim here.

The premier was joined by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail; Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and Environment Minister Yeo Bee Yin and Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian.

Dr Mahathir arrived at Menara Aqabah to attend the briefing at 5.56pm while Dr Wan Azizah arrived at 4.30pm.

They left the centre at around 7.05pm and will be going to Sultan Ismail Hospital to meet victims affected by the incident.

Earlier in Parliament in KUALA LUMPUR, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said that as of Wednesday (March 13), 1,171 people had received outpatient treatment, 397 were warded and 13 were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
