Lightning strike in Shah Alam kills one, injures four others (updated)


PETALING JAYA: A group of people playing football were struck by lightning in Shah Alam on Sunday (March 10), causing one death and injuring four others.

The incident occurred at Jalan Setia Murni U13/51 Setia Alam, Shah Alam, Sunday evening.

The deceased and injured are all of Rohingyan descent.

North Klang OCPD ACP Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh confirmed the case when contacted.

"As of now, there is one fatality. One of the players has been taken to the hospital and the other three suffered light injuries.

Sources said that emergency services were dispatched to the scene at around 6pm.
