KTMB chairman at MACC for questioning

PUTRAJAYA: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) chairman Datuk Rameli Musa has showed up at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters for questioning.

He arrived at the MACC building here in an MPV at around 10am.

Last week, Rameli was named by PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli as the holder of the bank account which paid RM1.4mil to Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle Brown.

It is alleged that the money was paid to settle a suit between PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and Rewcastle Brown.

In 2017, Abdul Hadi sued Rewcastle Brown for libel in London over an August 2016 Sarawak Report article alleging that PAS received RM90mil to guarantee its support for Umno and Barisan Nasional.

Rewcastle Brown filed a counter-claim in October 2017.

Then on Feb 1 this year, Abdul Hadi and Rewcastle Brown agreed to an out-of-court settlement.

However, PAS has vehemently denied any money was paid to settle the case.
