Woman rescued after falling off Penang Bridge

GEORGE TOWN: A 22-year-old woman was rescued by fishermen after she fell off KM6.0 of the Penang Bridge.

A Fire and Rescue Department representative said they were informed of the incident that took place at 6.34pm on Friday (March 1).

"It is believed the woman fell off the bridge at KM6.0 island-bound, where a motorcycle was found.  It was during this time that a fishing boat was in the area and was able to rescue the victim," he said.

The victim was then brought to the marine police before being sent to the Penang Hospital for treatment.
