NILAI: The Customs Department recently seized three million Erimin 5 pills worth some RM60mil shipped in from Taiwan.
Customs director-general Datuk Seri Subromaniam Tholasy said the drugs, which were hidden in a 20ft container, were seized in North Port in Port Klang on Jan 31.
“The goods had been declared as auto-parts and when we opened the boxes, we found the drugs discreetly hidden inside vehicle exhaust pipes,” he said at the Customs (Narcotics) headquarters in Kg Jijan near here on Friday (Feb 8).
He said the operation was jointly carried out with Bukit Aman.
Subromaniam said the authorities detained a 26-year-old suspect to assist in its probe.
The suspect, who is a director of a company, has been remanded for five days.
He said the container was one of two that arrived at North Port last month with no one coming forward to claim it.
