PETALING JAYA: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng says that more development will be brought to Cameron Highlands if Pakatan Harapan wins the parliament seat in the coming Jan 26 polls.
Lim was quoted by Malay daily Harian Metro as claiming that if Barisan Nasional candidate Ramli Mohd Nor were to win in the Cameron Highlands by-election, development would not take place as planned.
“We hope the voters will make the right decision; choose our candidate that can work well with the Federal government in order to ensure the welfare of all races are taken care of.
“Since Barisan won here (Cameron Highlands) on May 9, there hasn’t been any change. It’s still the same as before.
"But if we win this time, we will be able to provide many value-added services to voters here,” he said to reporters on Wednesday (Jan 17) during a walkabout at the Sungai Koyan night market.
Meanwhile, when asked to comment on whether Pakatan stands a chance to win in the Jan 26 by-election, Lim said that although it seemed like a tight race, there was a chance to win.
“The chances are still here, even though it seems tough. So, we ask the voters to make a wise decision during the by-election,” he added.
