Man dies on Christmas morning after MPV crashes into flyover pole

JOHOR BARU: A man died after he lost control of his multipurpose vehicle (MPV) and crashed into a flyover pole at KM11 along Jalan Johor Baru, Air Hitam here.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Taib Ahmad said the incident occurred at about 6.30am when the vehicle was heading towards Perling on Tuesday (Dec 25) morning.

“The victim has been identified as Ten Ki, aged 41, and he died at the scene due to severe injuries.

“The victim, who was was driving alone, was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer.

“The driver lost control of his vehicle when he crashed to the left side of the road before ramming into a flyover pole,” he said.

ACP Mohd Taib added that the victim’s body had been taken to Kulai Hospital for a post-mortem and the case would be investigated under Section 41(1) of Road Transport Act 1987.
