Be organised to be successful, Dr M tells govt officers

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad highlighted the importance of being an organised administration to have a successful government. 

Speaking at a closed-door briefing with government administrators, Dr Mahathir said sticking to methods were also key to effective governance. 

"I'm trying to explain to them the importance of being systematic and organised. 

"I pointed out that Europeans could conquer the world because they were organised. 

"They were successful although the rest of the world were much bigger," he said when met by reporters on Sunday (Dec 9). 

The Prime Minister said he wanted his ministers and civil servants to realise the importance of keeping the administration and its system organised.

"You have to have a system, you have to have a method. 

"If you want to do anything and succeed, it must be done in a correct way," he added.
