SIBU: For housewife Lim Bee Lang, Budget 2019 has nothing much for her to look forward to.
The 49-year-old is sad that she will be getting less aid under the Bantuan Sara Hidup scheme.
“I used to receive RM1,200 under BR1M (Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia) but with the new scheme, I need to adjust my household expenses.”
Her 51-year husband, who was a supervisor of an oil palm estate, met with a road accident on June 7 this year. He is now bedridden.
“As he is paralysed and not working, we don’t have any income but depend on financial aid from the government,” she said.
She has been receiving monthly aid of RM350 from the state Welfare Department starting last month.
They have five children but only one of them is below 18, who is eligible to receive a yearly aid of RM120.
