Perak MB heads Sultan’s birthday honours list


IPOH: Perak Mentri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Universiti Malaya’s (UM) pro-chancellor Toh Puan Dr Aishah Ong head the list of 285 recipients of honours and awards in conjunction with Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah’s 62nd birthday today.

They will be conferred the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP) award, which carries the title Datuk Seri, at the investiture ceremony at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar on Nov 4.

Fourteen other notable personalities will receive the Darjah Dato Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP), which carries the title Datuk.

The recipients include Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohammad Shatar Sabran, Foreign Ministry deputy secretary-general Datuk Raja Nurshirwan Zainal Abidin, Perak state Health Department director Dr Ding Lay Ming, State Land and Mines Depart­ment director Rumaizi Baharin@ Md Daud, State Public Works Department director Ahameed Tarmizi Ramli, State Drainage and Irrigation Depart­ment director Dr Ahmad Anuar Othman, UM’s Law Faculty Dean Associate Prof Datuk Dr Johan Shamsuddin Sabaruddin, Sultan Perak’s private secretary Toh Maharaja Dewa Mohd Rasid Hussin Shah, The Edge Media Group publisher and CEO Ho Kay Tat (pic), Ustaz Datuk Seri Ahmad Awang, Goh Seng Kuang, Jeffri Salim Davidson, Datuk Shahriman Shamsuddin, and Sinnathamby Senathi Rajah.

Defence Engineering Services Division’s director-general Brig Jen Chapiti Redzwan, and former Ipoh OCPD, SAC Sum Chang Keong, who is now Royal Malaysian Police College’s Administration and Research Department head, will receive the Darjah Dato Pahlawan Taming Sari award, which carries the title Datuk.
