Perak declares Monday (Oct 29) a state holiday following Malaysia Cup win


IPOH: The Perak Government has announced Monday (Oct 29) as a state public holiday after its football team won the Malaysia Cup final on Saturday (Oct 27) night.

In a letter issued by the State Secretary's office on Sunday (Oct 28), it said the public holiday was allowed under Section 9(1) of the Holidays Act to celebrate the achievement.

The Silver state ended its 18-year wait to lift their eighth Malaysia Cup trophy after a pulsating final.

The Seladang edged Terengganu 4-1 in the penalty shootout after a thrilling match that ended 3-3 after extra time as both teams played with 10 men at the Shah Alam Stadium.
