Caught: Alleged pervert who played with himself in front of lady on LRT

PETALING JAYA: A man who allegedly masturbated on the LRT train in front on an attractive lady recently has been nabbed.

LRT operator, RapidKL, stated on its Facebook page that auxiliary police managed to arrest the suspect at the Universiti station, and he was handed over to the police for further action.

The post included the picture of the alleged pervert, with his face covered with the word "Ditangkap" (Caught).

Earlier, there had been a 20-second video online of the suspect "moving his right hand vigorously in his pants" as he stood in front of the lady.

The alleged victim, Aryssa Fahmy, posted on her Facebook on Wednesday (Oct 24) that she found the recording of the alleged incident online.

It was believed to have happened on Tuesday morning, while she was travelling to work.

"I had a bad feeling. I did. But I thought he was just scratching and I was afraid to do anything," she wrote.

She alleged that the suspect did his "dirty business" from Kelana Jaya station to his stop at KL Gateway-University station.

"(According to a) witness (who saw what happened), during the train ride, he purposely stood in front of me even though he came from the other side of the train," she added.

RapidKL advised on its Facebook post: "We hope that other users will be aware of their surroundings when they are in the train, bus or anywhere.

"Do not keep looking at your phone (only)... your safety, is always our priority," said RapidKL.

The post had over 385 Likes and was shared 58 times.

The victim also thanked RapidKL and the police for dealing with the matter.

"I am glad you managed to catch him in within a few days. Thank you once more.

"I had trouble sleeping after the incident but Alhamdulilah I am recovering now from the horrendous experience endured. (sic)" she wrote.

At press time, The Star has tried to reach out to RapidKL for more information about the case.

When contacted, Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din confirmed that the suspect has been arrested by the police.

He added that the suspect has been remanded for three days.
