Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz resigned as chairman of Supermax due to personal reasons.

KUALA LUMPUR: Government-linked companies (GLCs) should be renamed development-linked companies to better reflect its roles and functions, says Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz (pic).

The former minister of International Trade and Industry said the GLCs had the notion that the loyalty of the employees was to the minister in charge.

Rafidah said giving a new name to GLCs would promote commitment to the development of the nation than to the government itself at the investors conference yesterday.

She added that such companies should detach from the ministry and focus on developing people.
