Rosmah arrested by MACC, to be charged with money laundering

PUTRAJAYA: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor (pic) has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

According to her lawyers, she was arrested at 3.20pm while giving her statement at its headquarters here.

It is learnt the wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will be charged with money laundering on Thursday (Oct 4).

Rosmah had arrived at the MACC headquarters at 10.42am earlier on Wednesday (Oct 3).

Clad in a light green baju kurung and matching headscarf, Rosmah looked calm as she walked past the gathered media.

She was accompanied by her lawyers Datuk K. Kumaraendran and Datuk Geethan Ram Vincent.

This is her third appointment with the MACC officials.

On June 5, she was questioned for about five hours by MACC investigators over a probe into SRC International, a former 1MDB subsidiary.

On Sept 26, Rosmah was called in for a second round of questioning – this time on 1MDB – which lasted almost 13 hours.

MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Shukri Abdull was quoted as saying on Sept 24 that the investigations on Rosmah had been completed and the report had been submitted to the Attorney General.

He said then that it was up to the AG to prosecute Rosmah.
