Johor Sultan graces StarProperty.my Awards

JOHOR BARU: More than a dozen developers were recognised for their innovation and creativity at the second StarProperty.my Awards: Jewels of Johor on Tuesday (Sept 18) night.

The event was graced by His Majesty, Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.

Also present were Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim and Star Media Group Berhad chairman Datuk Fu Ah Kiow.

In the opening of the event, Star Media Group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai acknowledged that Johor is set to become an economic development powerhouse, thanks to the strategic planning by the state government.

In his speech, Wong said very soon, Johor will be equipped with a state-of-the-art transportation system.

"The Gemas-Johor Baru electrified double-tracking railway system and the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System link are just the start of Johor's journey into becoming a transportation hub.

"Most recently, the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (Irda) introduced the Kulai-Sedenak 2025 Special Area Plan where the Sedenak Digital Valley aims to become one of the leading digital hubs in the region, attracting high capital and technology investments," he added.

The StarProperty.my Awards: Jewels of Johor presents 13 award categories, with five new categories introduced this year.

Tunku Ismail also gave out two awards to Country Garden Pacific View Sdn Bhd (CGPV), the master developer of Forest City, in the Special Mention Category.

CGPV received the "Most Iconic International City Planner and Sustainable Smart City Developer" award. It was also honoured for the "Biggest and Most Advanced Industrialized Building System (IBS) Development" award under the International Developer category.
