PETALING JAYA: PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin is questioning the manner in which the Port Dickson parliamentary seat was vacated, which has the appearance of manipulation by a "certain group".

She also called on PKR president-elect Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to declare his stand on the matter and state if there was consensus among party leaders to vacate the seat for him to contest.

"It shows as if PKR had been manipulated by a certain group.

"I really hope Anwar will himself declare his stand on this matter," she said.

Zuraida, who is also Pakatan Harapan Wanita chief warned that if the decision-making process was not carried out transparently nor democratically, and this would create confusion among the people.

"Every decision made by the party must be taken collectively in order to get the support from the members.

"The consensus achieved must be in line with the spirit of reform and democracy," she said on Wednesday (Sept 12).

However, PKR Youth leader Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, had a different view of the PD Move and called on Malaysians to support Anwar's quest to return to Parliament.

"I pledge to do everything I can to ensure PKR's incoming president and Malaysia's prime minister-in-waiting will succeed, " he said in a statement.

He said Anwar's spirit remained strong 20 years after the "Reformasi" started, despite all he had to go through including more than a decade behind bars.

Nik Nazmi who is also Pakatan Youth leader, thanked outgoing Port Dickson MP Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah for giving up his seat.
