Cops confirm arrest of former aide implicated in upskirt video

KUALA LUMPUR: The Deputy Minister's former aide who allegedly took up skirt footage of a woman whilst she performed an eye exam on his boss has been arrested.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy confirmed the arrest.

It is known that the arrest was made around 1pm on Monday (Sept 10), near the Solaris area here.

Earlier, City police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim had said that the case was being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person.

He also advised the public to not share the video footage, as the case was still under police investigations.

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman, in a statement on Sunday (Sept 9) said that the aide in question has been sacked from the ministry.

On Saturday, the man, in his 40s, was said to have been caught on CCTV using his smartphone to take an upskirt photo of a female worker at an optometry shop in a shopping complex here.
A video recording of the incident was later circulated on social media.

In the short clip, the man was seated next to another man, believed to be Mohd Azis, who was having his eyes tested by the woman.
