KUALA LUMPUR: The viral message about the resignation of Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as Pagoh Member of Parliament has been denied by his press secretary Hafiz Abdul Halim.

“Please be informed that the message is a hoax,” he said in a statement uploaded into Muhyiddin's Facebook page Thursday (Aug 30).

Hafiz also stressed that spreading a fake news is an offence in the country.

“Stern action can be taken against those who committed the offence,” he said. - Bernama
