PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Azmin Ali has met with Singapore Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan to discuss the KL-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) project.
“We are inching closer towards a win-win deal on HSR, thanks to the hardwork of officials from both sides,” the Economic Affairs Minister said in a tweet on Thursday (Aug 30).
The tweet was accompanied by a picture of both ministers.
Azmin is currently in Singapore for a series of meetings.
Last month, Malaysia said it would defer implementation of the HSR project linking Kuala Lumpur with Singapore, estimated to cost RM110bil, due to tight financial circumstances.
Earlier, Azmin also had a breakfast meeting with Singapore Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.
He said they had a productive and frank exchange of views on a broad range of matters, including geopolitical concerns.
“Discussed how best to take bilateral ties to the next level,” Azmin said in another tweet with a picture of both in the post.
