Dr M greeted by Chinese Premier at official ceremony


BEIJING: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been greeted by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang at an official welcoming ceremony.

The event was held at the Great Hall of the People here on Monday (Aug 20) morning prior to his closed-door meeting with Li.

The Malaysian Prime Minister is here on his official visit to China, which ends on Tuesday (Aug 21).

After that, the two will witness the signing of five government-to-government memorandums of understanding pertaining to finance, agriculture and other sectors.

Dr Mahathir is expected to meet President Xi Jinping on Monday before he and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali attend a dinner hosted by Xi and and his wife Peng Liyuan.
