Seven chosen to be part of National Education Advisory Council


PETALING JAYA: Seven members have been selected to be a part of the Education Ministry’s National Education Advisory Council (MPPK).

Selected by Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik, the council will be chaired by former Education director-general Tan Sri Dr Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Noordin and Royal Selangor International Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Yong Poh Kon as deputy chairman.

Dr Maszlee said the council will advise him in all matters relating to education, from preschool to higher education.

“We hope that they will also assist the ministry by providing insights and advice on the implementation of the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025 and the Malaysia Educa-tion Blueprint 2015-2025 (Higher Education),” Dr Maszlee said in a press statement yesterday.

The other members of the advisory council are Parent Action Group for Education Malaysia chairman Datin Noor Azimah Abdul Rahim, Khazanah Nasional education adviser Datuk Satinah Syed Saleh, former Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia deputy vice-chancellor Datuk Dr Sukiman Sarmani, Air Defence Artillery Group Malaysia Comman­der Brig-Jen Datuk Yusri Anwar and Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia Faculty of Economics and Management Science Department of Economics Prof Dr Ruzita Mohd Amin.
