Anwar met with Dr Mahathir to discuss reform agenda


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to discuss the reform agenda for the nation.

The PKR president's Facebook page said that Anwar met Dr Mahathir after Friday prayers in Putrajaya.

"A number of matters were discussed, among others contemporary issues in and outside the country, and the  reform and renewal agenda in Parliament that proved productive and positive," said a posting on Anwar's Facebook page on Saturday (Aug 11). ?

The post also said that during the meeting Anwar had stressed that Parliament must function as a check and balance to the Cabinet and Executive.

It added that the remark drew a positive response from Dr Mahathir.

The post also pointed out that Dr Mahathir had also wished Anwar a happy birthday.
