Safe for now: Rescuers taking the blind woman to hospital after she was rescued.

BUTTERWORTH: She was said to have been severely abused and neighbours could not bear to hear her screams anymore in silence.

Social workers found the 79-year-old blind woman in the back portion of the house where she was allegedly kept till the family members came home for the evening.
