Woman found stuffed in luggage bags near PWTC, Bangladeshi charged for murder

KUALA LUMPUR: A 37-year-old Bangladeshi man has been charged with the murder of his wife who was found dead and stuffed in two luggage bags near the Putra World Trade Centre last month.

Md Shahzada Saju nodded when the charge was read out before magistrate Siti Radziah Kamarudin.

No plea was recorded.

The accused, who worked as a shopping mall janitor, was charged with the murder of Sajeda-e Bulbul, also a Bangladeshi, at a room at 98C Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah here between 4.15am on July 3 and 3.16am on July 5.

The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries a mandatory death penalty upon conviction.

Lawyer Leonard Anselm Gomes represented the accused.

The court fixed Oct 8 for mention.

On July 5, dismembered body parts were found stuffed in two luggage bags on the riverbank of Sungai Gombak near Putra World Trade Centre.

The gruesome scene was discovered by a city council worker who was watering plants nearby and spotted a foot sticking out of the bag.

The body parts were wrapped in black plastic bags before being stuffed into the luggage bags.
