MIRI: Search teams from the Fire and Rescue Department and Civil Defence Unit have located the body of a villager snatched by a crocodile in the Lawas River.
The body of Effendi Panil, 45, from Kampung Sungai Lawas, was found in the river Monday (July 30) morning at about 6.40am.
He was found some 600m from the spot where he was attacked by a crocodile at noon Sunday (July 29).
Witnesses said he was walking along the riverbank in his village when he was attacked and dragged into the river by the reptile.
The victim's body has since been handed over to the police.
