PETALING JAYA: DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang has visited PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Istanbul, Turkey, where he is recovering from surgery to his shoulder.
On his Facebook page Saturday (July 28), Anwar posted a picture of himself, with his arm still in a sling, standing next to Lim.
"Thank you to my old friend Lim Kit Siang as well for taking the time out of his busy schedule to come and visit. We managed to discuss a number of contemporaneous issues.
"I admire his active spirit. May he be blessed with longevity and a safe trip back home," he added in an accompanying message.
Anwar had also posted another photo about two hours earlier of him with Federal Territories mufti Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, who also paid him a visit while he was in the Turkish capital city.
"I am honoured by the gracious visit from Sahibus Samahah Mufti of Federal Territories while he was attending to matters in Istanbul. Discussions ranging upon contemporary global issues including views revolving around the situation in Malaysia. Thank you Dato' for your time and du'a. Barakallah," Anwar posted.
Anwar is recovering from a 'reverse shoulder replacement surgery' performed on July 12, which is part of the treatment for an earlier spinal surgery procedure.
He suffers from lumbar central stenosis, a condition where the spinal canal narrows, causing pain and numbness.
His daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar said on July 25 that the surgeries were successful and Anwar will return to Malaysia as soon as he can.
