Dismembered body parts found in luggage by bank of Gombak river

KUALA LUMPUR: Dismembered body parts were found stuffed in two luggage bags on the riverbank of Sungai Gombak near Putra World Trade Centre.

The gruesome scene was discovered by a city council worker who was watering plants nearby and spotted a foot sticking out of the bag around 12pm on Thursday.

Dang Wangi Deputy OCPD Rudy Abdullah said it was unclear if the body parts belonged to one body or two.

The sex of the victim was also yet to be determined.

It is believed that one bag contained a torso while the other contained a head, arms and legs.

The body parts were wrapped in black plastic bags before being stuffed into the luggage bags.

“We also found a third bag on the opposite bank of the river but later ruled it to be unrelated,” he said when contacted on Thursday.

He added that police are waiting for a postmortem that will be done at 4pm at Hospital Kuala Lumpur on the same day.

“We urge anyone who has a missing family member to contact us to help us identify the body,” he said.
