KUALA LUMPUR: More than 400,000 National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan defaulters have been removed from the Immigration Department travel blacklist.

Newly appointed PTPTN chairman Wan Saiful Wan Jan said the entire exercise to "white list" the 429,945 borrowers was completed on June 8, a week earlier than scheduled.

"This also fulfils the Government's 100-day manifesto for Malaysians," he said at the PTPTN here office on Tuesday (June 26).

Although their names have been removed from the immigration blacklist, Wan Saiful advised borrowers to continue servicing their education loans.
