The department said the condition of strong winds and rough seas is dangerous to small crafts, recreational sea activities and water sports.

High tides hit 2.47m along the coastlines at 4pm on Monday while strong winds whipped up the wave crests to a reported 3.5m.

The public is also advised to be mindful of the waves by the coastline, especially motorists who park their cars along areas like the Esplanade.
