IRB: Don’t forget to file tax returns

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians may be in the grip of election fever, but they have been advised to remember their tax deadlines.

The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) said the last day to submit manual forms remains unchanged – it’s tomorrow.

“The deadline for manual submission will be maintained on April 30 for individuals without a business source (of income), and June 30 for individuals who do,” the IRB said in a statement.

However, those who file their tax forms online will have more time to do so.

Salaried workers without a business source of income have until May 15 to submit form BE or M (year of assessment 2017) via e-Filing.

Taxpayers with a business source are also given additional time, until July 15, to submit their form B or M.
