SELAYANG: The family of slain Dr Fadi Albatsh hopes that they his final resting place will be back home in Gaza.

Family spokesman and fellow countryman Mahmoud Shakfa said that Dr Fadi's father, who lives in Gaza, insists that his son's body is brought back home.

"His father has not seen him in years. The family is trying hard to arrange for the body to be sent back there," he said.

Mahmoud, a close family friend of the deceased, said this at the Selayang Hospital mortuary on Sunday (April 22) while waiting for Dr Fadi's post-mortem results.

On whether Dr Fadi had any known enemies, Mahmoud said that he did not, adding that he was well loved by everybody.

"Absolutely not. No enemies. He used to walk alone to the mosque to do his prayers without any incident.

"We did not expect something like this could happen to Dr Fadi," he said.

On Saturday (April 21), the 35-year-old Palestinian lecturer was gunned down in an early morning attack in Setapak.

In the brutal 6am slaying, two men in full-faced helmets on a high-powered motorcycle waited 20 minutes in the dark near Jalan Meranti before gunning him down.
