University lecturer gunned down in Setapak


KUALA LUMPUR: A 35-year-old Palestinian man was gunned down near his condominium in Setapak on Saturday morning.

City police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the victim was on his way to a nearby mosque when he was shot at by two assailants on a motorcycle at about 6am on Jalan Gombak.

"He was walking near the Idaman Puteri Condominium when two men fired about 10 shots at him.

"He died on the spot," he said.

Comm Mazlan said the man was a lecturer at a private university.

"He was married and had been living at the condominium for some time.

"There were four bullet wounds on his body and we recovered two bullets at the scene," he said.

He added investigations are ongoing.
