Penang DAP announces candidate list, Chow to contest Tanjong


GEORGE TOWN: Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow will contest the Tanjong parliamentary seat and defend his Padang Kota state seat in GE14.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng announced Chow's candidacy Saturday (April 21) during the Penang DAP announcement of candidates for GE14 at Evergreen Laurel Hotel here.

Chow will replace Tanjong DAP incumbent Ng Wei Aik, who was among those dropped.

Other incumbents dropped are state exco members Lim Hock Seng, 70 (Bagan Jermal); Danny Law Heng Kiang (Batu Lancang), Jelutong MP Jeff Ooi, 63; two-term Bagan Dalam assemblyman A. Tanasekharan, 62, and two-term Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Lau Keng Ee.

They will be replaced by Soon Lip Chee, Ong Ah Teong, R.S.N. Rayer, M. Satees, and Gooi Zi Sen respectively.
