KUALA LUMPUR: Asia's premier defence show, Defence Services Asia (DSA), is officially underway.
The expo's 16th iteration, currently being held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MiTEC) here, was launched by Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Baharom on Monday (April 16).
Around 340 delegations from 45 countries confirmed their attendance for the expo.
This year's show also debuts the first-ever National Security Asia (Natsec Asia), an exhibition that focuses on national security sectors, including public safety.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, did a walkabout at around 10.30am and said that he was impressed with what he saw so far.
"The fact that there are so many international exhibitors shows that they have faith in the country's stability. Early feedback has been very encouraging," he said.
DSA 2018 will run until April 19.
