Crowds throng Star Education Fair 2018

GEORGE TOWN: Crowds of school leavers, students and their parents thronged the Star Education Fair 2018 at the Spice Arena in Penang when it opened its doors on Saturday.

Students and parents had started queuing up two hours earlier before visitors were allowed in at 11am.

Entering its 31st year, The Star Education Fair remains Malaysia's premier one-stop education exhibition.

Visitors will get first-hand information from over 200 local and international educational institutions offering a vast of programmes.

These range from foundation to diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and professional levels.

Even vocational and part-time courses are available.

It was opened by Star Media Group editor-in-chief Datuk Leanne Goh on Saturday.

The major exhibitors this time are Quest International University Perak and KDU Penang University College with 16 booths each and INTI University with 14.

They are joined by equally renowned names such as Lim Kok Wing University of Creative Technology, SEGi University and Colleges, Disted College and Equator College.

Also present are HJU International College, International Medical University, MAHSA University, Management & Science University (MSU), Sentral College Penang and The One Academy.

This year, the Star Education Fund celebrates its 25th anniversary by offering 295 bond-free scholarships from 31 institutions, worth around RM16.1mil.

To be eligible, applicants must be Malaysian and no older than 25 as of Jan 1 for undergraduate courses. There is no age limit for postgraduate students.

The fair is open from 11am to 7pm daily on Saturday and Sunday (March 18). Admission is free.
