Selangor Council of the Royal Court exposes fake Datuk

PETALING JAYA: The Selangor Council of the Royal Court has never issued any offer letter for the Darjah dan Bintang Kebesaran Negeri Selangor honorific title which carries the title "Datuk" to a person named Goh Boon Leong.

The Council's secretary Hanafisah Jais said a police report had been filed on the person based on a forged letter.

"The fake letter also bears several inaccuracies like the wrong Selangor coat of arms as well as the false name and signature of the Selangor Council of the Royal Court Secretary.

"This fraud is a serious crime, with the intention of fooling the public, affecting the good name of the Sultan of Selangor and besmirching the Selangor royal institution," said Hanafisah in a statement.

It is hoped that the public will take heed of the matter to avoid being cheated by the person concerned, she added.
