Najib: Economy will be in deficit if GST is removed

PUTRAJAYA: Replacing the Goods and Services Tax (GST) with the Sales and Services Tax (SST) is unrealistic and can result in Malaysia being a deficit country, says Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Prime Minister said GST has proven to be a progressive tax, earning the country RM45bil last year.
