KUALA TERENGGANU: The week-long Expo Terengganu 2018 received praise from the Prime Minister as it showcased the state's achievements and plans to move forward.
In his speech at the event's closing ceremony, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak gave the state goverment full marks for doing a good job highlighting the Government's solutions to people's problems.
"Unlike us, the opposition can only spread lies and fake news, and bring up problems without having solutions for them," he said.
One of the solutions presented at the Expo was the "Jualan Sentuhan Rakyat" (People Friendly Sale), which allows people to access essential items at more affordable prices.
"You could find fresh beef sold at RM22 per kilo, which is about RM7 cheaper than the market price. Fresh chicken and fish also cost less at the sale," he said.
Najib said such sales should continue to alleviate living costs problems among the people and issued an order for the Domestic Trade Cooperatives and Consumerism ministery to have the sale more often.
"People are tired of political ceramah (talks). They want to see solutions like the ones found at this Expo," he said.
At the closing ceremony, Najib also presented mock cheques to religious leaders such as Imams, Bilals, religious teachers and those performing Muslim funeral rites.
