Tune Talk announces new CEO, with what else? A music video

KUALA LUMPUR: Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Tune Talk Sdn Bhd has announced its new chief executive officer (CEO) Ameen Abdullah with a rather quirky music video.

Ameen replaces Jason Lo, who had served as CEO since its founding in 2007.

The music video features Ameen, who is dressed semi-casually, strutting into Tune Talk's office with a group of young executives.

With British singer Dua Lipa's single New Rules playing, Ameen dances along with the executives while wearing a pair of sunglasses.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Ameen was the CEO for RedOne and also the head of the MVNO and migrant segment at Celcom.

Lo, Tune Talk’s founding CEO, was a singer-songwriter in his younger days.

Last September, he was detained at Dubai International Airport. According to one local news report, it was allegedly for drug possession.

He was detained for two weeks at the police lockup before serving his sentence at the Al-Aweer Central Prison, according to the report. He returned to Malaysia in November.

Lo denied the media report that he was detained for drug possession. Instead, he said, he was sent to the police lockup because he had tried to help his friend who attempted to break up a fight.
