Tengku Adnan: Probe will show truth in land sale claim

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor "thanked" DAP national chairman Tan Kok Wai for planning to lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over claims of land sold without open tender.

Tan, who is Cheras MP, had alleged that up to 45 parcels of government land in Kuala Lumpur had been sold without open tender since Tengku Adnan became Federal Territories Minister.

Tengku Adnan said the investigation by MACC would reveal if the allegation is true or mere slander as Tan claimed that the land sales were for personal gain.

"I understand that there are groups set up by certain people to protest against proposed government development projects in their areas and around Kuala Lumpur," Tengku Adnan said in a statement on Dec 18 (Monday).

He claimed that these protest groups were set up with personal agenda as the property developers remunerated them for raising the objections.

"I have requested the property developers to report to the police and MACC against these parties," he said.
