Police arrest six who posed as cops to rob family in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM: The police have arrested six men in their investigation into a robbery in Seksyen 7 here last Monday (Nov 27).

The six, including an Indonesian who is on the wanted list, had posed as policemen to rob the family, said Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Mazlan Mansor on Thursday (Dec 7).

In the incident, a man in his 50s and his three children were woken up at about 4.50am by knocks on their door.

They then saw three men wearing civilian clothing who ordered them to open the door, claiming that they were policemen on the search for a suspect on the loose.

The men did not show any identification to prove their claim, and handcuffed the family once they were in the house.

All three then fled with a car, a laptop, some jewellery and several mobile phones.

Comm Mazlan said the first arrest was made at Kampung Paya Jaras in Sungai Buloh on Wednesday night (Dec 6).

"His arrest then to the arrest of four other local men and an Indonesian woman in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, with the last arrest made at about 4am Thursday," he said.

All six suspects and have been remanded for seven days.

Comm Mazlan noted that the police are still looking for two other men, Rizal Zee Alias, 46, and Mohd Saufi Hashim, 33, to assist with the investigation.

"Those who have information about these two men are urged to come forward to the nearest police station," he added.

Comm Mazlan said the case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and armed robbery.
