Man arrested for spraying at MPSJ officer for clamping car

SERDANG: Police arrested a man for allegedly spraying an unidentified liquid at a Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) officer for clamping his vehicle for failing to park in a designated parking lot.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Alias said the suspect was picked up at around 10.30pm on Wednesday (Nov 8) in Bandar Kinrara.

"The unemployed man in his 50s confessed to having sprayed the officer with a liquid during interrogations.

"He claims to have thrown away the canister when he fled the scene," he said on Thursday (Nov 9).

Police have remanded the suspect to help with investigations.

"Our checks so far revealed that he has no prior record," ACP Megat said.

During a clamping operation on Tuesday along Jalan Puteri 1/4, Bandar Puteri Puchong, the officer and his partner had clamped a white Honda City for failing to park at the designated area.

Moments later, at about 12.40pm, a couple approached the officer and acted aggressively.

The man sprayed an unidentified liquid at the officer and then ran off with his wife.

In September, a video of a woman screaming and threatening an MPSJ officer with a car steering lock went viral on social media. This happened in the same area as this latest incident.

The woman also had her car clamped for not parking in a designated parking area.

Even though she had a disabled driver sticker on the windscreen of the car, she failed to produce the OKU card as proof when requested by the officer.
