Crane collapses at Kampung Baru construction site

KUALA LUMPUR: Several people sustained minor injuries and cars were damaged when a crane at a construction site collapsed in Kampung Baru here.

 

It is learnt that the mishap occurred at about 12.30pm on Thursday.

 

It is understood that a woman was rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital after she was hit in the shoulder by debris.

 

Developer UDA Holdings Bhd said in a statement on its website that it had closed the area and taken immediate steps to inform the parties involved in the incident.

 

"A thorough investigation is being carried out to identify the cause of the mishap. More information will be given once the investigation is completed.

 

"UDA also expresses regret over the incident and will take all necessary measures to avoid similar incidents in the future," it said.
