PETALING JAYA: Two journalists have been arrested in Nay Pyi Taw for using a drone to take pictures of the Parliament area, according to Myanmar media.

Tweets from @MayWongCNA, senior Myanmar correspondent for Channel News Asia, shared that those arrested were Mok Choy Lin from Malaysia and Lau Hon Meng from Singapore.

According to May, the Myanmar Information Ministry has released pictures of the drones and passport pictures of the detained duo.

The ministry said the two foreign journalists and their local fixer were questioned at the police station over their use of the drone to take pictures of Parliament.

It claimed that their intention was to take pictures of Nay Pyi Taw Parliament buildings and pagodas when security spotted them.
