GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng (pic) has given the developer of the Tanjung Bungah landslide site a week to meet all buyers.
"The developer has to face all buyers in a week or the state will be involved," Lim posted in Chinese on his Facebook page on Thursday (Oct 26).
The Chief Minister chaired press conferences in the morning on Thursday to brief the public on actions being taken over the landslide on Saturday (Oct 21) that killed 11 and Tuesday's (Oct 24) Juru bus crash that killed eight.
He repeated his warning to the developer in his press conferences.
On Wednesday (Oct 25), the developer, Taman Sri Bunga Sdn Bhd, issued a media statement that it had appointed an engineering consultancy to conduct an independent assessment into the cause of the landslide.
Since the landslide, some buyers of the apartment units have expressed their worry for the future of their purchases.
