Najib arrives at party headquarters for highly-awaited media conference

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has arrived at the party's headquarters here for the much-anticipated media conference.

Najib arrived at 5pm on Sunday with the party's supreme council members arriving earlier.

Umno vice president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived at 4.20pm.

Police personnel were seen at the lobby of Menara Dato' Onn but the situation was under control.

There were no large crowds of supporters, but the media turned out in droves hoping to cover the media conference that was scheduled for 4.45pm

All media personnel were required to register by Umno with only a limited number of local media outlets allowed into the meeting room on Level 39 of the tower where the event is scheduled to take place.

Despite much speculation on what Najib is about to announce, media personnel have been unable to receive much information.
