GEORGE TOWN: Gerakan has filed a defamation suit against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng over allegations related to the sale of reclaimed land in Tanjung Pinang.

In the statement of claim, Gerakan secretary-general Liang Teck Meng said that Lim had defamed the former Gerakan-led Penang state government and Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon, the former chief minister, with accusations that 380.4ha (940acres) of reclaimed land in Tanjung Pinang were sold at RM1 per sq ft with 10 percent of the land to be given to the state government.
