KUALA LUMPUR: University student Siti Nur Amalina Roslan will vote for the first time in the next general election and she is determined to do so as an Umno member.

The 22-year-old University College AgroScience Malaysia student said she came from a family with a firm belief in Umno’s struggles.

“As a youth, I want stability and only Umno has that. I can only see the colour red.”

She was among thousands of youths and visitors at the Umno registration booth.

Self-employed Khairul Amri Ridzuan, 33, from Hulu Selangor, said he was initially not keen on politics, but became interested after watching some videos online.

“Since I am here, it will be easier to just register as a member. I feel that Umno is the only party that can bring Malaysia to a whole new level,” he said.
